I began my career in pensions administration, working with large final salary schemes before moving into financial advice in 2015. Since then, I’ve expanded my knowledge across all areas of financial planning, working for companies with various specialisms.
My diverse roles in financial planning have led me to Operations. I’m fascinated by how different parts of a business come together to achieve great outcomes for clients. I enjoy understanding how things work and looking for ways to improve efficiency for the team.
At Emery Little, I’m responsible for ensuring the business runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes overseeing areas such as finance, HR, compliance, and processes, alongside working on larger projects. I appreciate that no two days are the same, and I can be involved in most aspects of the business while working with many members.
The area of financial planning that truly sparks my interest is responsible or sustainable investing, often referred to as Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) investing. I’ve achieved the CFA UK Certificate in ESG Investing to deepen my knowledge in this field.
Outside of work, I love creating memories with friends and family. Whether it’s travelling abroad, trying a new restaurant, or hosting at our house, I always welcome opportunities to spend time with those I cherish.
Helping others is extremely important to me. I volunteer for two local charities that assist families in need – one redistributes food, while the other provides essentials like furniture and clothing.
For those curious about my surname, Abplanalp is Swiss and means “from Planalp”. Planalp is a beautiful village in the Alps near Brienz. If you ever visit, I recommend taking the steam train up the mountain and saving the walk for the downhill journey!
